Mozart's Gran Partita with the Army Music Corps

The Army Music Corps' woodwind ensemble will give a majestic lunchtime concert at Gripsholm Castle, performing a popular piece by Mozart.

The programme includes Mozart's masterpiece Serenade no. 10, 'Gran Partita'. This suite is a favourite among the composer's devotees. Mozart wrote the piece in around 1784 for two oboes, two clarinets, two basset horns, two bassoons, four French horns and a double bass.

Thirteen musicians from the Army Music Corps will be performing, conducted by Anton Holmer. Anton has quickly earned a reputation as one of Sweden's leading young conductors. This season sees his debut performances with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Uppsala Chamber Orchestra and the Västerås Sinfonietta, as well as his return to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra following his celebrated debut last year.
